About Lanier National Speedway
Lanier National Speedway, now known as Lanier Raceplex, is a 0.375-mile paved oval track located in Braselton, Georgia, directly across from Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. Built by championship racer Bud Lunsford, the track opened as a dirt oval in 1982 and was paved in 1987. It hosted NASCAR Whelen All-American Series weekly racing and 17 NASCAR Southeast Series events between 1991 and 2004, attracting future stars including Dale Earnhardt, Jeff Gordon, and Kevin Harvick, before transitioning in 2014 to karting, drift events, and community motorsport programming under new ownership.
