Who we are
Pace Motorsport (“Pace,” “we,” “us”) is a telemetry, livestream, and analysis service for grassroots motorsport. This policy explains what we collect through the Pace mobile app and racingpace.com, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Account and profile. When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive basic identity information such as your name, email address, and profile photo. You may also add a username, bio, and avatar.
Precise location. While you record a session, the app collects precise GPS location to log telemetry, time laps, detect the track, and place start/finish lines. At the start of a session we send the track’s coordinates to a weather service to attach conditions to your session.
Camera, microphone, and video. When you choose to record video or livestream, the app captures video and audio, which is processed and delivered through our video provider so it can be streamed and played back.
Motion and sensor data. We record motion-sensor data — such as acceleration, orientation, and barometric pressure — as part of your session telemetry.
Photos you upload. If you add photos (for example, to a profile, vehicle, or setup), we store them to provide that feature.
Content and activity. We store the content you create — sessions, comments, reactions, follows, and reports — to operate the social features of the service.
Usage and device data. We use a product-analytics provider to understand how the app is used (for example, features opened and general device information) so we can improve it.
Push notification tokens. If you enable notifications, we use a push provider that assigns a device token so we can deliver alerts.
Roster information and people you add
Pace lets you build a roster of the drivers and vehicles you manage. Roster details about a driver may include a name, number, or birthdate that you enter.
If you provide information about another person — including a minor driver — or post media that includes them, you represent that you have the right to do so. For a minor, that means you are the parent or legal guardian, or you have obtained the consent of the minor’s parent or guardian. If that consent is withdrawn, you are responsible for removing the information, and you may also contact us and we will remove it.
How we use information
- To provide the service — capture, timing, analysis, playback, livestreaming, and the social feed.
- To deliver notifications you’ve asked for.
- To keep the community safe — moderation, blocking, muting, and handling reports.
- To maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the product.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
Your choices
- Set a default and per-session visibility (private, followers, or public).
- Block or mute other users, and report content.
- Delete individual sessions, or delete your account, from within the app.
- Manage location, camera, microphone, and notification permissions in your device settings.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live — including California and other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws — you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and to appeal a decision on your request.
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To make a request, email us at [CONTACT_EMAIL]. We will verify your request before acting on it, and we won’t discriminate against you for exercising these rights. Note that some information you posted publicly or shared with others may have been copied or re-shared in ways we can’t fully retract.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete a session or your account, we delete or de-identify the associated data, except where we need to retain it to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes. Backups may persist for a limited period before they cycle out.
Children
Pace accounts are intended for adults. The service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly create accounts for or collect personal information directly from children under 13. A minor may appear in Pace only as roster information — for example, a young driver — entered and managed by an adult account holder who is responsible for that information and for any required parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us personal information directly, contact us at [CONTACT_EMAIL] and we will remove it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including access controls on our database and encrypted connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International users
We operate in the United States. If you use Pace from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be processed in the U.S., where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
