About Cemetery Circuit
The Cemetery Circuit is a temporary motorcycle street circuit in downtown Whanganui, New Zealand, named because the course bisects the old town cemetery. First contested on Boxing Day 1951, it is New Zealand's largest motorcycle street race and has earned the nickname "Southern Hemisphere's Isle of Man." The 1.5 km layout runs through residential streets alongside the Whanganui River, featuring concrete walls, lamp posts, two railway crossings, an overbridge, and blind S-bends with no run-off. The event is held annually on 26 December as the finale of the Suzuki International Series.
